Wisconsin Badgers Football 2016 Season Predictions

The upcoming college football season is fast approaching and one of the teams that is looking to have a successful season is the Wisconsin Badgers. The team is coming off a season in which they finished with an overall record of 10-3. During the season they beat a number of decent teams en route to a 23-21 victory over the University of Southern California Trojans in the Holiday Bowl. Led by head coach Paul Chryst, the Badgers will be playing the perennial powerhouse LSU Tigers at Lambeau Field to start the season. In this matchup, the team will be playing against their former defensive coordinator.

In the upcoming season, the Badgers will have a rather challenging schedule. sees them having a significant drop-off.  They will face a number of contenting teams that will prove to be big test for them on a weekly basis. The Badgers will face some of the best college football teams in the country such as the Louisiana State Tigers, Michigan State Spartans, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines. They will also need to face teams such as the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Iowa Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. All of these matchups will be very important for Wisconsin as they will need to win a majority of these games in order to compete for a national title.  Which unless they enlist some of their all-time best players they aren’t going to do.

At the beginning of the season, the Badgers will face LSU, who are among the best college football teams in the nation. This will be a huge test for Wisconsin as they will have an opportunity to make a big statement right away. They are at home in this matchup so with the home crowd supporting them, they may be able to win this game and establish themselves as a team to beat during the season. The next couple of weeks will be quite easy for the Badgers as they will face off against the Georgia State Panthers and the Akron Zips. However, the schedule will get tougher as they will need to play back to back road games at Michigan State and Michigan respectively. Both of these teams are well coached and will be challenging matchups for Wisconsin. After the first five games of the season, Wisconsin will likely have an overall record of at least 3-2.

The second half of the season will be quite challenging as well. During this stretch, they will need to face off against Ohio State, Iowa, and Nebraska. All three of these teams are always tough to beat but the Badgers will likely win at least two out of these three matchups. In the final weeks of the season, they will face the Northwestern Wildcats, Illinois Fighting Illini, Purdue Boilermakers and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Wisconsin will likely win all of these matchups and finish with an overall regular season record of 9-3. This will allow them to participate in postseason play and get into one of the more significant bowl games at the end of the season.

After finishing the regular season is over, they will likely play in the Big Ten championship game and will win against Michigan. Therefore, they will be 10-3 with a berth in one of the major bowl games. In the Bowl game, Wisconsin will likely win that matchup and finish the season with an overall record of 11 wins and 3 losses. Therefore they will likely have a very good season and continue to establish themselves as a solid college football program.

While the Wisconsin Badgers will finish with an impressive record and have a successful season, it is unlikely that they will win the national championship. With a tough schedule against some very tough opponents, they will likely lose more than 2 games which usually prevent teams from winning a national championship. Since a team needs to either go undefeated or lose only one game all season, Wisconsin is not likely to meet this criterion during the season. However, the Badgers will likely finish in the top 10 teams in college football and remain as one of the finest teams in the nation. The Badgers should remain in the top 10 all season and have solid contributions from all of their players. As a result, the Wisconsin Badgers will be one of the most successful teams in college football during the 2016 season.
